Little Star Hr. Sec. School is blessed to be mentioned in an article published by The Northeast Today – TNT on 24th October, 2015 titled ‘Five Top Notch Schools of Northeast’. The list includes Holy Cross School -Tripura, St. Edmunds – Shillong, Standard Robarth Hr. Sec. School – Manipur and The Assam Valley School.
Little Star Hr. Sec. School was the only school from Nagaland on the list.
The week long competitions have finally come to an end. All the four house displayed their best performances vying for the champions trophy. The competition was a tough one. Yellow house is currently in the leading position but will they will able to hold this position! The Annual sports and the school’s most coveted titles (Student of the Year, Hosteller of the Year and Participant of the Year) will be added up to the current score to judge who the 2016 Champions will be.
The competitions were held on different days for Seniors, Juniors and Sub Juniors. An extra day was added this year to enable more students to compete and to participate. Over 600 students took part representing their houses. The competitions began with the march of the captains and a drill by the Class 7 and 8 girls. Followed by an opening speech by the Principal where she spoke of the importance of these events and competitions.
New competitions added this year are fashion show, spelling bee and skit for the sub juniors , story telling, extempore, Hindi group and solo songs and Power Point presentation for the juniors. The closing ceremony was held on Friday with the Junior students. The teachers performed songs, ethnic wear show and piano recital. The music teacher of the school enthralled the audience with their upbeat and energetic songs.
