Beyond the classroom, Shyam enjoys reading, which expands his knowledge, broadens his perspective, and fuels his curiosity. He also finds solace in music, which helps him unwind, reflect, and appreciate its power to convey emotions and uplift the soul.

Driven by his passion for the subject, Shyam has been teaching mathematics for over two decades. He began his career at the then Christian Mission High School, Phek. Over the years, he has taught in various institutions, refining his teaching skills, and served at Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima, before joining Little Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, in 2023.
Shyam’s passion for mathematics has influenced his academic journey. He completed his schooling at the then Government High School, Phek. He graduated with honors in mathematics (B.Sc) from Gauhati University. To further his teaching expertise, he pursued a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). In addition to his background in mathematics and education, Shyam also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Shyam actively engages in professional development to enhance his teaching skills and stay updated with modern educational practices. He attended a three-day orientation program designed for secondary mathematics teachers, conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. He also participated in a five-day workshop on the Enhancement of Teaching Competency for School Teachers, organized by the Nagaland College of Teacher Education, Kohima.
