Atolika and Tania Gets Runners up in Inter -school Table Tennis Tournament

Atolika and Tania got runners up in the girls double Inter-school Table Tennis Competition organised by Leo Club, Dimapur.

Atolika also got runners up in the girls single table tennis.

40 school participated in the competitions and there were 140 participants.

Both Atolika and Tania will be participating in the Nagaland Open Table Tennis Competition at Kohima in October. If Selected, they will get the chance to represent Nagaland.

Cooking Competition, 2022 held at Little Star Hr. Sec. School Dimapur.

Theme :- Naga Thali

As part of the Annual Cultural, Literary and Sports Competitions Week, Little Star Hr. Secondary School has conducted House- Wise Cooking Competition for High School and Higher Secondary School Students on 3rd and 7th  September, 2022 respectively in the School Dining Hall. The participants of the competition were the members of the Cookery Club of the School. The Competition was held as a learning experience for the students and to emphasize the value of traditional Naga food.

The Competition was judged by Mr. Joel Basumatary, one of the Master Chefs of Nagaland, who is also the owner of Smokey Joe’s. The teachers in charge of the Competitions were Madam Sudha for the High School section and Miss Imnasungla Aier for Hr. Secondary section. 

Altogether 48 students participated in the competition. Every house in both the sections was represented by 6 students each. The students brought the ingredients in accordance with the theme of the Competition which was ‘Naga Thali’. The preparation, cooking and presentation of the finished product, was done within the allotted time of one hour 20 minutes.

The competition saw the students creating exotic Naga thalis with authentic easily available traditional ingredients. The Thalis included rejuvenating drinks like Rhus Chinesis Sumac with ginger etc. 

The students prepared healthy dishes like boiled millet, yam curry, dried pork with fermented soya beans, winged beans chutney, black rice pudding, chicken broth, and many more using traditional recipes and recipes tweaked with other traditional items. 

The dishes were served creatively tickling the taste buds of the onlookers.

Each House served 4-5 items on the ‘Naga Thali’. .

Annual Cultural, Literary and Sports Competitions

The Annual Cultural, Literary and Sports Competitions took place from 1st to 7th September 2022. Day 1 started with the opening ceremony where Mrs. Nini Sekhose, Chairman, LSHSS declared the activities week open. Day 1 witnessed solo songs, duets, group song, instrumental recital, beat contest, bible quiz, drawing competition, Hindi recitation and spelling bee. Students of classes 8,9,10 competed house wise.

Day 2 was for the students of classes 5,6,7 and 11 & 12. Classes 5,6,7 students competed in quiz competition, Bible Quiz, Essay Writing, Hindi Recitation, English Recitation, Drawing, Singing Solo, Singing Duet, Instrumental Recital, Junior Choir and Solo Dance.

At the same time, students of classes 11 & 12 participated in singing solo, singing duet, group song, instrument recital, beat contest, Bible quiz, drawing competition and spelling bee. The judges for all the singing competitions were Miss Mupulila, Piano teacher LSHSS, Sir Akok, Piano teacher LSHSS and the keyboardist if the Band Incipit, Sir Imkongwapang, Piano teacher LSHSS and Sir Impang, Drums teacher LSHSS.

Day 3 competitions were again for students of classes 8,9,10. The four houses battled in general quiz, essay writing, debate, extempore speech, poetry slam, choreography, math olympiad, website making, drama and cooking competition. The young chefs of LSHSS were delighted to welcome Chef Joel Basumatary as the judge for their cooking competition. Chef Joel gave the students tips and advices on how to cook and what makes a great Naga Thali.

Day 4 was for the students of classes 1,2,3 and 4. It started with the singing solo then singing duet, followed by action song, drawing, fancy dress, fashion show, solo dance, mental ability, Hindi recitation, math Olympiad, group dance, English recitation, memory test, spelling bee and lastly Skit competition. 

Day 5 was again for the students of classes 5,6,7,11 and 12. Class 5,6,7 competed in Hindi Solo Song, Hindi group song, spelling bee, fashion show, extempore, group dance, story telling, power point, scratch game and math olympiad.

Students of Classes 11 and 12 competed in general quiz, essay writing, extempore, poetry slam, website making competition, choreography, drama, math olympiad and cooking competition. Chef Joel famous for his Smokey Joe Sauces judged the cooking competition. Much to the joy of the students he even whipped up a quick chicken dish in just 7 minuted to demonstrate to the students how quickly professionals work in the kitchen. 

The Annual activities included table tennis, badminton and chess competitions for the students of classes 5-12.

Cuet Exam 2022 for admission to Central Universities and other participating universities in 2022

Important information for Class 12 outgoing students

Outgoing students should go to https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/index.php/app/info/universities to apply for Cuet exam for admission to the following universities.


CUET (UG) – 2022 stands for Common University Entrance Test UG 2022.
It is a single entrance test for admission to Central Universities and other participating Institutions which will be admitting the candidates to their UG courses for the academic year 2022-23 based on the NTA (national Testing Agency) Score secured by them in this test.


The question paper pattern in CUET (UG) – 2022 will be objective type comprising Multiple Choice Questions and hence evaluation will be objective.
CUET (UG) – 2022 will be held in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode where result processing will be done through technology with no human intervention.


CUET (UG) – 2022 will be based on Class XII syllabus.


Applicants should go through the information about the course, number of seats, eligibility, reservation, admission policy, tests in CUET (UG) – 2022 to which the desired courses are mapped, etc available on the website of the University/ies where they wants admission and ensure that they are eligible for the desired course and the test which they should take in CUET (UG) – 2022 and apply accordingly.


A candidate who wants to get admission in any UG courses in any Central University or its affiliated colleges for the academic year 2022-23 must appear in CUET (UG) – 2022.


It has been mandated that admission to UG courses of Central Universities for the academic year 2022-23, will be done on the basis of NTA Score obtained in CUET (UG) – 2022.


Exam will be held in July 2022.


It will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.


The test will be objective type. The question paper will comprise Multiple Choice questions.


Language Test and Subject Tests are of 45 minutes duration each.


General Test is of 1 hour duration.


A candidate is required to appear only in the Test/s chosen by him.

The last of submission of entrance form for CUET via the website is 6th May 2022.

Bridge Classes for Class 10 Matric Appeared Students

Little Star Hr. Sec. School will be providing Bridge Classes for students who have appeared the HSLC Examination 2022 and are planning to take up Science in Class 11. 

The Classes for the Bridge course will start from 4th April 2022 at 9:00 a.m.- to 1:00 pm daily Monday to Saturday till declaration of HSLC results. 

Subjects will be as follows:-

  1. Math
  2. Physics
  3. Chemistry
  4. Biology
  5. Computer Science

Fees for the Bridge Class will be Rs. 3,000 per month. Students from any school can join this class, However as seats are limited, students from Little Star will be given preference.

Joining the Bridge Classes is not a guarantee for admission into Class 11 Science of Little Star Hr. Sec. School.

Registration for the Bridge Classes may be done either by filling up the following Google Form or contacting any of the Class 10 teachers.

FELICITATION PROGRAM OF LSHSS on 26th July 2021

Little Star Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, felicitated the State Rank Holders of the School  along with the Teachers on 26th July 2021 at the School Hall observing all the SOPs. 

Five Rank Holders from Class 10 and two Rank Holders of Class 12, including Ohiduz Zaman, the First Rank Holder in Science Stream of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Pungbale Rangkhau, the State Female Topper in Science Stream and the Topper among Nagas in the Science Stream.

The Program started with invocation from Miss Ruphes Sakhrie, the Hr. Secondary Science Stream Supervisor, The Chairman, Madam Nini Sekhose welcomed the gathering. The Principal, Madam Christina Neikhrienuo gave a powerpoint presentation on the summary of the results. She said that good results are always a collective effort of the entire faculty and the parents . Building a strong academic foundation starts from Pre school itself. So, not forgetting all the other teachers who have contributed to this result behind the scenes. The school was happy to see the hostellers in the top and 80%+ list. She congratulated and thanked all the matrons, wardens and Hostel Superintendent for guiding the hostellers so well. She thanked the wonderful dedicated team of class 10 and 12 teachers. She acknowledged how they had worked so tirelessly with such determination and ambition no matter what challenges we faced last year. She said the teachers readily and willing took up the tough transition from offline to online and guidance classes. Though the sudden change was not easy, the teachers became computer savvy overnight. Their willingness to learn is what pushed the school and students forward. She congratulated all the successful students once again.

Out of seven Rank Holders, three Rank holders spoke on the occasion, namely,  Ohiduz Zaman, Nonya Konyak and Pungbale Rangkau. Pungbale reminisced about the ten wonderful years she had spent in the school. 

The Director Sir Vihutuo spoke about the joy of teaching this outgoing batch. They were like sponges absorbing every bit of information. He had come to know and love every one of them and congratulated them for their excellent results. He did not just see them as toppers in their fields but he saw them as children with inquisitive minds, beautiful personalities who were not afraid even to advise him at times when he asked for it. 

HSSLC 2021

Ohiduz Zaman was felicitated for achieving the Number One position in Science stream. He was also the State Topper in Computer Science. For the first time in the history of the Board, the State Topper got 100 in Computer Science in Class 12. The School gave him a cash award of Rs. 25,000/-. His overall percentage was 96%.

Pungbale Rangkau, the 4th Rank in Science Stream is also the State Girl Topper and the Topper among Nagas in the Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate, Science Stream. Her overall percentage was 94%. She is the Female State Topper and the Naga Topper in Science Stream. She was awarded Rs. 15,000/- by the school.

Overall Results of HSSLC Science Stream : 33 students – 1st Division, 5 students – 2nd Division, 1 student – 3rd Division 

2 students in 90%+. 100% pass in English, Alt English, Physics, Biology and Computer Science 

Overall results of HSSLC Arts Stream : 52 students- 1st Division, 41 students- 2nd Division, 4 students- 3rd Division

1 student in 90%+ 6 students in 80%+ 

HSLC 2021

Five students were Rank Holders in HSLC 2021. Emil Moncy Oomen, 4th Rank 97.6%,  Nonya Konyak 9th Rank,  State Topper in Social Science, 97% , Kimridi Thousen, 16th Rank,  96% , Rila Sangtam, 20th Rank, 95.50%, Imlijungba Aier, 20th Rank, State Topper in Science,  95.50% .

Overall results of HSLC 2021 :  

17 students in 90%+ and 49 students achieved 80%+.

100% pass in English, Alt. English , Hindi and Environment Education. 

All the Rank Holders were given cash awards. 

Excellence in Teaching Award: The School gave out the  “Vihutuo Excellence in Teaching Award”. The  following Teachers received cash awards commensurate to their achievements, Miss Helen (English), Madam Nukshizenla (Alt. English), Miss Nangshienla (Environment), Sir Bikash(Social Science), Sir Medemenba (FIT), Madam Christina (Music), Madam Jennifer (Science), Sir Deb Kumar Gautam (Hindi), Sir Bidyut (Mathematics),Miss Inzuigongle (Physics), Miss Temsulemla (English), Sir Vihutuo (Computer Science), Sir Sadikul (Computer Science), Miss Khrielenuo(Chemistry), Miss Rupheus (Biology), Miss Mapunungla (Alt English),Miss Neishedeno (Sociology), Miss Imnajungla (History), Madam Sushmita (History).

The programme ended with a vote of thanks from the Moderator, Madam Nukshizenla and benediction by Sir. P.V. Francis, Chaplain cum Hostel Superintendent.

As part of the Life Skill Class, Physical Education was conducted of Class-12 Arts and Science. The main objective was to inculcate physical fitness and healthy lifestyle especially during the pandemic. The class started with a brief theory session by the class teachers followed by live demonstration and workouts under the guidance of Miss Neishedeno.
