Two Class 10 students from Little Star Higher Secondary School, Ilimika Apphia Chishi and Tinusenla, along with their teacher guide Madam Jennifer, participated in the Annual Summer Hobby Camp held on 31st May at the Nagaland Science Centre, Dimapur.

The event was organized by the Innovation Hub & Space Education Division of the Nagaland Science Centre, under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Nagaland, with the theme:
“Explore the Possibilities – Reuse & Reduce.”
A total of 16 schools took part in the camp, where students creatively transformed waste materials such as plastic bottles, newspapers, and polythene bags into useful products. The initiative aimed to foster innovation while promoting environmental consciousness.
Little Star Higher Secondary School was selected for the best two products and were honoured with certificates and cash awards. All participating students received certificates of participation.
Representing our school, Ilimika and Tinusenla created decorative lights using discarded mineral water bottles, highlighting an innovative way to reduce plastic waste by repurposing commonly used materials into simple, eco-friendly home décor.
